Stay Strong..Rick hears from George W!!

Late last night Rick received a note from The President.  " Laura and I are thinking about you as you recover from surgery.  We know you are going through a difficult time and we send our prayers for your strength and comfort.  Stay strong and get well soon.  May god bless you."
Look for a copy of the letter later on the blog!

Wow! So NOW he remembers who you are? The things you have to do to get his attention, huh? Seriously, Rick... very cool! Now you've got the "big guns" on your side! Every little bit helps. Thank you W & Laura. So maybe THAT is why he was doing that little tap dance? To bring a smile to our guy's face?

Keep fighting the "good fight", Pal. We're ALL in this with you!!!

Looking forward to the next Mortons feast.

From one Republican to another -- I am very impressed. And so are the so-called Democrats in our house -- all of whom send their love and best wishes. All the Barkans -- including Jake -- are thinking of you!

Rick,
While not as impressive as Lou Pinella sending his best wishes, still the President isn't too shabby.

Rick, I was just talking to Dr. Eddie and he said he had been in touch with you. I just came home from opening day for the Cubbies. What a sleeper, it rained all morning and they predicted light rain all afternoon and severe thunderstorms at night. My son Grant and I got to the festivities early, 11:30 am. Just past normal game time, the weather opened and they had all the festivities. There was a tribute to Ernie Banks, he has a great statue on Clark in his honor, the formal presentation at the game was attended by Billy Williams, Hank Aaron and Fergie Jenkins. What a treat. As you probably heard, 0 to 0 until the ninth, Woods allowed three runs, the cubs come back to tie and a homer by Fukudome and loose in tenth. A great opening day. Stay well and i have you get to see Ernie statue soon.
